Thirteenth session with employers: a Tentative Agreement is reached

The scheduled two-day session with the employers' negotiation team and the Unity Bargaining Team (joined for the first time by a federal mediator upon request from Local 555) went throughout the night on the 27th.

A Tentative Agreement was reached at ~ 9 am, Saturday, September 28, 2019. This is a contract we can all be very proud of: solidarity carried the day.

We will not be able to release details of the Tentative Agreement until after ratification meetings are held. At those meetings, you will learn all the details, ask any questions, and vote to accept or reject the Tentative Agreement. A Tentative Agreement does not become a contract unless the majority of members who attend vote yes to ratify the Tentative Agreement. We will send out dates and times for those meetings as soon as possible. Your Unity Negotiation Team recommends that you vote "yes."

Our boycott against Fred Meyer was highly effective, due to your hard work in building relationships with your communities, who stood strong and proud with us! The boycott has ended, effective immediately.

Watch social media, your email, and bulletin boards at work for more details on ratification.
