Rose City Rosies Participation at Veterans Day and Pearl Harbor Day Parades
We wanted to let you know about two opportunities for the Rose City Rosies to participate in upcoming parades. See the info below that the Rosies provided on the Veterans Day Parade in Albany OR, and the Pearl Harbor Day parade in Honolulu.
VETERANS DAY PARADE IN ALBANY, OREGON
The IBEW Rosies (Rose City Rosies) have been invited by the American Rosie the Riveter Association (ARRA) to join them in the Albany Veterans Day Parade on Monday, November 11th! We’ll be representing IBEW Local 48 and walking with the Original Rosies, honoring women in the trades and celebrating the Rosie the Riveter legacy.
The pre-parade meet-up will be at 9am at the Starbucks at 940 Pacific Blvd SE in Albany. The parade starts at 11:11 a.m., and the parade route can be viewed at the link below:
https://linncountyveteransdayparade.org
We won’t be doing our regular parade routine — instead, we’ll focus on walking together in unity and showing our respect for veterans and the women who paved the way for us.
Please wear your Rosie shirts and bandanas if you have them. If you don’t have a shirt and bandana, we have extras available at the hall so everyone can match! Just let RaNon Chaussee know so she can get you one. Please keep our dress attire as if we were participating in the Grand Floral parade. Dark blue jeans, boots or dark tennis shoes, and if you would like to wear a long sleeve shirt under your blue shirt let’s make it white so we all match.
Let’s show up strong, proud, and full of Rosie spirit!

PEARL HARBOR DAY PARADE IN HAWAII
We’ve been invited by Jan Davis, Vice President of the American Rosie the Riveter Association (ARRA) – Hawaii, to join the Original Rosies in honoring veterans at the Pearl Harbor Memorial and Parade on Saturday, December 7th!
Memorial Service: 7:00 a.m. (Visitor Center)
Parade: 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (one-mile route)
The Original Rosies will ride on the trolley, and we’ll proudly walk behind them, representing IBEW Local 48, women in the trades, and the Rosie legacy. Each participant will be responsible for their own travel costs, but this is a WONDERFUL opportunity to stand beside the women who helped shape history and to celebrate the strength, service, and resilience of our veterans and Rosies.
There is also a signing that will take place on December 5th, where the original Rosie’s will attend for guests to come and meet them and sign posters. This will also be at the visitor center.
Let’s show our Rosie spirit and represent IBEW LU 48 with pride in Hawaii!
