Residential Negotiations Update: Week of August 24th
The second session of bargaining for the Residential Agreement took place on August 24th and some progress was made. After some lengthy discussions on topics surrounding unit growth, market recovery and market share, and Category 1 language, we managed to make some movement on a few topics.
NECA handed us three proposed tentative agreements and two counters. We did agree to the proposed tentative agreements, and asked questions on their counters. The tentative agreements cover withholding of wages and what to do if payday lands on a holiday, cleaning up the apprentice pay steps to be aligned with the NIETC training standards, and some cleanup on travel reimbursement. The counters that were handed over covered scope of work and callouts for emergency service.
These are posted on the Documents tab at https://48dispatch.com/, and I encourage you to check them out. Our next three scheduled sessions are on September 29th, 30th, and October 1st. We will have another update shortly after those dates.
