Our Volunteers Help the Grotto Power an Amazing Light Display
Continuing a proud tradition, Local 48’s skilled electricians, apprentices, and retirees spent the day at the Portland Grotto installing panels and outlets to power a holiday light display featuring more than one million lights—welcoming over 55,000 visitors.
This year, Christenson Electric played a major role by replacing several aging house panels that had reached the end of their service life.
Since the Festival of Lights began in 1988, IBEW Local 48 and their signatory contractors with the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) have proudly provided the electrical distribution that brings this cherished community event to life each holiday season.
