Joshua Lester Lackey

Josh passed away Aug. 28, 2013, surrounded by his family and friends. Josh was born Jan. 8, 1976, in Portland, to Steve and Rhonda Lackey, 50 minutes before his twin brother, Isaac. He grew up and lived in Clackamas, graduated from Clackamas High School, attended OSU and became a Journeyman Electrician with IBEW Local 48, last working for Rosendin Electric at Intel. Josh is survived by his wife of 13 years, Bonnie; his two young children, Claire, 6, and Jensen, 2; his parents; siblings, Isaac (Kristie) and Alycia Keller (Brent); grandmother, Lydia Hubbard; eight nieces and nephews; a large extended family including many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Josh stayed loyal to all OSU sports and was coach of his church softball team. He was a member and a trustee at his church and he served on the board of the local pioneer cemetery. He loved to snow and water ski and go camping with his family and friends. Josh was a competitive swimmer from age seven to 18 and was a four-year varsity swimmer on his high school swim team. He loved to go hunting, build and create things, work in his vegetable garden, go to the beach, golf, work on puzzles, attend the annual Super Bowl Party and never missed Father's Day at the Dixie Mountain Strawberry Festival. Most of all, he was an amazing husband and a hands-on Daddy. Josh loved the Lord and lived true to his Christian faith. He lived a large and full life for 37 years and will be greatly missed.

A memorial will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, at Valley View Evangelical Church, 11501 SE Sunnyside Road, in Clackamas, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a fund for the children and medical expenses has been set up at Columbia Bank F.B.O. Josh Lackey Memorial Fund. Please sign the online guestbook: peakefh.com.
