Join the Sisters in Solidarity for the IBEW River Takeover!
Show your solidarity on the river, then join your sisters and brothers for some post-float BBQ!
Date: Saturday, August 16th
Route: Barton to Carver Clackamas River Float
Meet-up: Barton Park (Picnic Shelter #7)
IBEW volunteers will be at Barton Park sheltered picnic area #7 and will have Local 48 bandanas for the first 60 members that arrive! This is a self-paced experience, with no official start time to hit the river. But we do recommend arriving in the morning, as parking is limited. The parking fee is $8.00.
Floating the river takes 3-4 hours depending on how often you make stops. IBEW volunteers will be shuttling members back from Carver to Barton between 1pm and 5pm. Be sure to check in at shelter #7 to put your contact info on the volunteer shuttle list. There is also a paid shuttle that can return you to Barton Park for $15 (electronic payments accepted). BBQ-ing will take place at Barton Park picnic shelter #7 from 1pm to 5pm.
Volunteers are still needed to help with a number of tasks! See the volunteer form below. Volunteers will be reimbursed for parking. If you live in the area and could help with carpooling or coordination, that would be helpful as well!
